Creating and implementing strategic change to a Business and Operating Model

Challenge

The client had a business and operating model which was delivered through a corporate structure comprising legal entities in Switzerland, mainland Europe and the UK. The client faced a number of simultaneous challenges arising from implementing its five year business strategy. These included continuing strong growth both in sales and associated headcount, rolling out its supervisory framework and, implementing the changes of a third country branch in response to Brexit.

The client required a strategic programme to manage these challenges with the senior stakeholders across the different locations

Our approach

Working closely with teams across the geography, AlgoMe Consulting quickly analysed the interdependency of the challenges and the need to design a significantly improved business and operating model.

By remaining independent, embedding us in the organization and engaging the companies own people we were able to build trust with partners and create cultural understanding within the organization.

Our agile nature of implementation allowed us to react to evolving situations quickly and proactively anticipate and challenge a client on the progress of delivery.

Client outcome

Next to resolving the challenges faced by the client, the senior management gained a deeper understanding of their business through the process of overlaying and re-evaluating their strategy. The new strategy empowered the firm to address the future regulatory requirements and take advantage of the new opportunities in the market.

The challenges faced were turned into an opportunity to redefine the UK office as a leading innovator rather than an outlying branch following a central policy. Equally the UK management developed a deepened understanding at head office of the issues faced by working in the UK regulatory environment as well as how this could apply to other businesses in the overall organisation.
