Post-acquisition Target Operating Model

Client: FTSE 100 Global Asset Manager

Challenge

The company has significant operations in the UK and had recently acquired another UK-based Asset Manager. Both companies had multibillion GBP Money Market UCITS in various domiciles. Our client engaged us to migrate and merge their Money Market UCITS into their chosen strategic domicile without incurring any material client outflows. We were also tasked with the design and implementation of a single UCITS V compliant global operating model in their chosen domicile, including managing the selection process and transition of a new Middle Office provider.

Our approach

AlgoMe Consulting mobilised and ran seven workstreams aligned to each of the relevant business functions (Operations, IT & Data, HR, Front Office, Distribution & Product, Client Services and Investor Services). In tandem we deployed a governance structure programme to enable appropriate escalations and cross-workstream decision making collectively within the organisation, as well as with their Third Party Administrators (TPAs).

Client outcome

The governance framework we developed enabled our client to manage and control this large programme of work. Our client was able to successfully and safely migrate and merge both funds into their chosen strategic domicile without incurring any client outflows and has since been able to realise significant economies of scale.
